Why hire doula services….
Prenatal support…
From our very first meeting, I am here to provide emotional, educational and physical support. We will spend some time getting to know each other, talking about how this pregnancy has been and discuss what your thoughts and preferences are for you and the baby once he/she is here. You will also be able to ask questions and talk about any concerns you may have at this point and we can make a plan for the kind of help you need and want once baby is here.
Postnatal care…
When baby arrives, I’ll help you in the immediate postnatal period - guidance with feeding, sleeping techniques, safe ways to bath the baby, ensure you’re able to rest and sleep and emotional support for a smooth transition into parenthood.
Caring for you…
A Doula is also someone who is there to care for you - the parents. To ensure you feel confident with baby, an extra pair of hands, to offer any relevant advice if needed, and also to make sure you are as rested and looked after as possible.
Time to talk through questions and concerns before the babies arrival..
Postnatal wellbeing and mental health…
One of my biggest passions when working as a postnatal Doula is looking after Mums post birth, their mental health and their wellness.
As many as 1 in 5 women develop mental illness during pregnancy or in the first year after birth . *www.rcog.org.uk
Pregnancy and the fourth trimester - once you’ve had the baby, is a rollercoaster of emotions and can be so overwhelming, and can take us by surprise. Sometimes through lack of sleep and being exhausted we might not be able to think straight or even have the capacity to make simple decisions anymore so it is vital you have people around you to help and support you. This is so natural and part of the process but it doesn’t make it easy.
As a postnatal doula I will be there to help support and guide you through this time, help with the baby to give you rest and make sure you feel restored and happy to be the best mum you can be.
Asking for help shows strength not weakness . If you feel concerned about how you might manage or cope once baby is here, reach out and we can figure out a plan and schedule for ensuring you are supported as well as your partner and baby.
